The research in the fields of circuits and systems has been focused on the external characterization of complex physical systems aimed to automatic control and signal processing.
In particular, the synthesis of innovative, hybrid electromechanical systems has been afforded for the active and passive damping of vibrations of beam and shell structures. Prototype structures demonstrated the technical feasibility of hybrid piezo-electro-mechanical structures (especially tied to the realization of huge inductances), coupled with state of the art damping performance and costs.
